Capricorn 10°: An albatross feeding from the hand of a sailor.

18:21, 01/01/2014, Capricorn 10°

p. 235     AN ASTROLOGICAL MANDALA, by Dane Rudhyar (1973)

PHASE 280 (CAPRICORN 10°): AN ALBATROSS FEEDING FROM THE HAND OF A SAILOR.

KEYNOTE: The overcoming of fear and its rewards.

The man who radiates perfect harmlessness can call the wildest creatures to him and can establish with them a partnership based on mutual respect and understanding. Every living entity plays a role in the world's ritual of existence; beyond these specific roles, which too often separate one entity from another, the communion of love and compassion can bring together the most desparate lives.

At this last stage of the fifty-sixth sequence we are presented with a picture extending the ideal of peace and happiness through culture of harmlessness and compassion generates TRUST everywhere.

Girlcapsule's Response:

I appreciate the positive tone of Rudhyar's reflection on today's symbol, but I'm having to ask myself the question: is it naïve?

If I continue with the idea of ancient ancestors, in some trans-dimensional and timeless manner, finding ways of coming forward towards their progeny with loyalty and love as angels, guides, helpers. Even in imaginal-realm logic, it makes no sense to deny the cataclysmic nature of cosmos that seems to require churning itself to greater complexity and inter-relatedness.

Historically speaking, there is reason to hope that an undercurrent of collective integrity will rise towards becoming more and more nurturing (consider the trend of the civil rights, environmental, and feminist movements and the steps towards peace through the recognition of the divine rights of all beings to flourish into fullness of potential and expression). Even with the progress that has been made, there will continually rise the challenges that we all face in relating to each other. Why would trans-dimensional interrelations be any less complicated, or require any less of an evolutionary process of working for equilibrium? Won't we each continue to have to face the power-hungry monster inside us that drives us each to "make history" or discover deeper meaning in our lives?

But if we choose to assume a stance of TRUST that our ancestor angels will be working for our collective flourishing and development on a grander scale, then we can also open to this possibility.
