Capricorn 09°: An angel carrying a harp.

14:02, 01.01.2015, Capricorn 09°

p. 235     AN ASTROLOGICAL MANDALA, by Dane Rudhyar (1973)

PHASE 279 (CAPRICORN 09°): AN ANGEL CARRYING A HARP.

KEYNOTE: The revelation of the spiritual meaning and purpose at the core of any life situation.

This picture simply says that "heaven is within us." All we have to do is to be open and listen to the total harmony of life, a harmony in which we play a part that is necessary to the completeness and meaning of the whole. In order to do this we have to surrender our separative ego-consciousness and flow with the universal current which, to the religiously minded person, is the will of God.

This is the fourth symbol of the series. The technique it implies is that of ATTUNEMENT to the rhythm of universal life. Angels are to be considered personalizations of verious aspects of this life, and totally subservient to its rhythms and purposes.

Girlcapsule's Response:

I love how today's symbol was expressed in Rudhyar's explanation. What a beautiful vision, also almost immediately problematic when total subservience is required.

Recently the archetype of the ancient ancestor has come into the on-going discussion. Today we meet an angel with a harp. What's the connection? I think a significant one could be discovered in the idea of departed ancestors acting in the role of angels to the living.

Rupert Sheldrake, a former research fellow for the Royal Society and former director of studies in biochemistry and cell biology at Clare College, Cambridge University, has formulated a the concept of morphic fields. The implications of his work are interesting to contemplate, and to my limited understanding bring up many questions that can never be answered by laboratory experimental design. I feel that impulse within my psyche—the desire to believe that help is on the way to humans and the Earth community.

I can attest to the benefit of meditating on the subject in the Imaginal Realm of infinite potential. The logic is something like this: If there ever comes a point when a species like humanity begins to realize transdimensional capacities, then likely it's those with whom we are intimately entangled, whether by proximity or blood, who will devise ways of helping us in moments of difficulty. Why wouldn't they?
